Villamartin is the oldest of the four golf courses and is really breathtaking in its beauty. Playing over undulating fairways to well protected greens, no two holes are alike on this superb course. A ravine comes into play on the inward part of the course and the par 5 14th and the par 3 17th are spectacular holes on a course that is always in excellent condition. Villamartin golf course is probably the best known course in the area. Designed by Paul Putman and opened in 1972, the 1994 Mediterranean open was hosted here and won by Jose Maria Olazabal. The course is not too long, and is well adapted to the natural surroundings and terrain. There is plenty of Mediterranean vegetation as well as thick woods and there's a natural precipice you need to avoid. A number of holes have water hazards. The excellent design offers wide variety of all 18 holes giving enthusiasts the chance to enjoy using all 14 clubs from their bags. The magnificently maintained greens which are all a good size can be very fast. You can also enjoy a game of tennis in the club courts or simply relax over an enjoyable meal in the club's excellent restaurant.
